As an organization committed to change and progress, Souls II Souls would like to invite you to participate in A Celebration of Rededication to Service this Sunday, January 3, 2010 from 6-10 p.m. located at 2020 Leeland, Houston, TX 77003.
We will be collecting new and gently worn shoes to be distributed to Houston’s homeless. We believe the gift of shoes gives someone hope for a better tomorrow and the possibility to walk into a better future. It would be a great honor to have your presence at our event and a tremendous opportunity to share the vision of your organization with hundreds of enthusiastic service-oriented people ready to approach 2010 with a spirit of giving.
The celebration will feature some of Houston’s freshest original musicians, comedians and spoken word artists, delicious morsels provided by Beaucoup Bar and Grill and presentations by some of our city’s elected officials and service organizations enthusiastically leading the charge to inspire change and the advancement of our communities.
The line-up includes an appearance by Councilman Jarvis Johnson, the hilarious comedy of Houston’s own Ali Siddiq of HBO’s Def Comedy Jam and Eddie B, original music by Ira Perez, NYA, Tamika Handy, Kozmik Oasis recording artists K’Monte and David Sha, spoken word artists Empress and Ella Russell, and the sounds of Bless.the.DJ.
